In the last few years, surfing (short boarding) contests have taken off, with great sponsorship, great quality live streaming, prize money, locations, fantasy surfer etc... fans have finally got what they've envied their football/rugby/golf/tennis brethren for having all these years
Bodyboarding on the other hand seemed to get left behind. The sport seemed to get layed off by big industry sponsors, and has taken a back seat. But the sport itself has never slowed down, more just quietened down. But this year with Red Bull's support, the tour's kicked off in great form, streamed live, with out the past lack of quality and commentary, it made for great viewing
